• Waterfront

  • Ontario Hydro owns all the waterfront of all properties on Black Donald Lake. The waterfront is leased to property owners in perpetuity ($1.00/year but not collected). Ontario Hydro created Black Donald Lake in 1967, as part of the six-dam system on the Madawaska River, starting in Algonquin Park, and ending in Arnprior. The dam-controlled lake and elevation of the Lakehouse mean flooding is never a worry.

The waterfront is fully and easily accessible by the owners by foot or by vehicle. On the far side of the property, a road leads to the waterfront, a boat launch and a small shed. A large surface 20’ x 20’ pressure treated dock (new 2011), on permanent footings, overlooks the lake.
