• The Lakehouse

    • Tranquil. Sanctuary. HGTV-worthy. These are a few of the words people have used to describe The Lakehouse. Indeed, the Ottawa Citizen featured this beautiful retreat as their “Home of the Week” in 2010.

The Lakehouse is a two-story, 2,400 sq. foot side-split and was designed to be fully accessible, including 36” doorways and a low-rise staircase.

Entrance to the lower level leads to two bedrooms and a half-bath, as well as to the basement. The upper level, which is the main living area, features an open-concept kitchen/living room, butler’s pantry, dining room, laundry room, master bedroom with ensuite, guest room, full bathroom, office and sunroom.

The living room, kitchen, dining and sunroom, as well as the deck, face north-west and overlook the lake. As a result, breathtaking sunsets are part of everyday living. The Lakehouse is surrounded by a mixture of white and red pines, balsam, birch and maple trees.

    • The Lakehouse features an attached single car garage and a separate two-bay garage (approximately 24’ x 32’), with a workshop and enough space to hold both a car and a boat. The property has been professionally landscaped, including 210 tonnes of limestone rock walls, perennial gardens and a pond.

A short 10 minutes west of Calabogie Peaks, the Lakehouse is situated on approximately 1 acre of land (including that land both owned and leased, in perpetuity, from Ontario Hydro. (See “Waterfront” for details). Located on Chimo Road South, it overlooks Black Donald Lake and has approximately 145 feet of pristine waterfront. The original cottage was built in 1976 and then extensively renovated in 2008 into a year-round home. Chimo Road South is a peninsula, and there is no water access for the general public.
